All your life you are told things you cannot do. All your life they will say you're not good enough or talented enough; they will say you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this. They will tell you NO, a thousand times NO until all the NOs become meaningless. All your life they will tell you quite firmly and very quickly. AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES. -- NIKE ad

What a motivating quote! Makes me want to get up and do something other than sitting at home writing this blog. But I thought I'd share this.
Can you identify with this quote? I'm sure that all of us, at some point in our lives, have encountered or will encounter the naysayers who will relish telling us "NO". Some will say it because they truly do believe the "NO". Some will say it because they don't want us to succeed. The questions to ask yourself is: Will I let the "NOs" stop me from even trying? Or will I ignore them, move forward and work towards my "YES"?
Sometimes fear gets in the way. The fear that the "NOs" may be right is enough to stop you dead in your tracks. I know. Fear has gotten hold of me a few times in the earlier days of my life. Now that I'm older and wiser, I've learned to ignore the "NOs" and just go for it. What have I got to lose? Nothing! If it doesn't turn out the way I envisioned it, I still win. Why? Because I use the failure as a case study and learn from it. My failures, although few, have had such huge impacts in my life that the lessons I've learned from them have helped me make better decisions later on. My failures have made me a better: person, business woman, parent, wife, daughter, sister, employee and co-worker. I'm not perfect, but I am much better.
So go for your "YES". Prove to yourself that you can do it. Regardless of the outcome, you'll still be a winner. Bring positive energy into your life. Exercise your mind to accept challenges and disregard the "NOs".

Bad for you
We all know that living a healthy lifestyle is important. It prolongs your life so you can watch your kids and grandchildren grow up. One of the important ways to be healthy is to stay within your normal weight range. So, we go on diets or enroll in a weight loss program to help keep our weights down. We do well for a while. Then all of a sudden, we're back to eating junk foods and unhealthy meals and we stop exercising! We see the scale quickly go up to triple digits we know is not where we want to be or should be.
So we go back to the dieting again. But this time, we want immediate results because we have to go to a high school reunion in one month or we're going on a cruise and need to look good in our swimsuits. So what do we do? We decide to go on some crazy diet, maybe pick up some pills to drop those 20-30 pounds quick! Come on, we've all been through this. You know what I'm talking about. The quick-fix, unhealthy way to lose weight: we starve ourselves; we go on water diets; we go on "purge" diets; we throw-up; we take pills that make our hearts race so fast we sometimes think it's going to explode!
I was browsing through the web a few days ago and came across an article that will help you identify the weight loss products that the FDA considers risky. Here is the link. I suggest you take a look and make sure you're not taking one of these. The only way to be healthy and stay healthy is to lose weight through proper nutrition, healthy meals and supplements, healthy weight-loss programs, managing food portions and EXERCISING!
If you want a healthy weight-loss regimen, check out the TSS (Trim Slim Shape) program. Your body naturally knows how much weight to lose and how fast. I used it to lose 10 pounds (which is all I needed to lose) and continue to use it to help maintain my weight.

TSS
TSS stands for Trim Slim Shape. I know, it sounds like that weight loss program Anna Nicole Smith was on. But it's not.
TSS is sold by Visalus Sciences. It's the weight management product line of the company. When I started on it, I used it to lose a little bit of excess weight. My goal was to lose 10 pounds...that's all I needed. So I followed its easy 3-step program:
1. A shake for breakfast and lunch.
2. 2 metabolic pills with my shakes.
3. 1 suppresant drink powder mix whenever I start to crave something unhealthy to eat.
The shake comes as a powder mix with a sweet creamy flavor. If I have to take the suppresant drink mix, I usually mix it with orange juice since I don't particularly like the way it tastes when mixed in water. Thankfully, after two shakes and healthy snacks in between, I usually don't suffer from cravings so I very rarely resort to drinking the mix.
In 65 days I lost 7 pounds just by taking the TSS. This is without the benefit of exercising! Not a dramatic weight loss, I know. But it's true fat loss, not water weight. And it's a healthy weight loss because I lost what my body needed to lose.
The last 3 pounds I lost when I started exercising again: walk/jog and cardio kickboxing. I continue to take the TSS but only to maintain my weight, not for weight loss anymore. Instead of 2 shakes a day, I'm now down to 1 shake. I'm going to incorporate 8-10 pound weight training twice a week into my exercise regimen so I can tone up!
Life is great. Just in time for summer!
